Eating seasonably
Eating more local seasonal fruit & veg has a number of benefits, not least because produce hasn't travelled so far and so is fresher and cheaper!
Of course not everything that we like to eat grows locally, and most (imported) produce is now available all-year round in supermarkets.
But if you prefer to eat more local fruit & veg, you might find our seasonal guide useful - or we can advise you about what's best in season at any time (and we try to source our produce as locally as possible). September means... apples, blackberries, pears, plums broccoli, cabbage, carrots, courgettes, leeks, lettuce, marrows, new and old potatoes, radish, rhubarb, spinach, sweetcorn, tomatoes, watercress |
